Once again...thanx man!

My fren RD send me the above email, asked for my assistance to finance his return (and his wife as well) to Malaysia after completing his study and internship in London. Suprisingly, instead of arranging for his return flight tickets, his sponsor asked him to arrange it on his own and claim it later - this pay first, claim later scheme is so iritating eh?

His cry for help is hard for me to resist. After all, he was my husemate before he left for London in 2002 and has been such a nice host when I went to London in 2003 - a trip that I fondly remember because of few turn of events later on (met up "long lost" fren Cruisy in London and became closer with him as we traveled together, but back in KL that newly bond frenship was cut short as he was charged for CBT and have to spend time behind bars ...)

So, I booked the flight ticket on line for him tonite using my credit card and if things goes well, he shall be back to Malaysia by next month.

Welcoming you back RD!

Eye specialist & Dentist

Chair 1
Chair 2
I had an appointment with the eye specialised today at PMC. Its good to know that I need not come for another appointment with him - thats really a relief considering the termination of the Co's insurance scheme frm next month. Anyway, just like with other alergies that can't be cured 100% I really need to control on my food in take etc...

Later, headed to the dentist which is nearby to PMC - been sometime since my last visit there yet I'm still reluctant to extract one of my tooth as advised by the dentist - the same advise that I received frm the dentist on my last visit in 2003

New Challenge

Its a hectic weekend for me...

Its all started on Friday when I met up with Jacky who supposed to brief me on some "new ventures" but I ended up joining as part of his credit card marketing team instead... I think I was hypnotised by Jacky for signing up for his so called new venture - or is it the lure of money (good commission he told me) or the esteem of working freelance with a reputable international bank that made agreeable to his scheme? Anyway, I was occupied with training session this weekend and attending the nationwide sales conference held in KL - its more like motivational talk for all of us to promote the bank's products.

I guess I just give it a try - a good additional source of income for me (which ironically, I'll used up to pay for my credit card debt )

p/s Lemme know if any of you out there would like to apply for credit card

Good luck, Zed!! Wed 26-Jan-2005 19:05

Birthday Greetings

Birthday Greetings
Its funny nowaday I guess as most of my friends, colleagues and even family members don't even remember my birthday (its not that significant to me anyway) but I got few greetings from strangers out there (read : direct mailers who remember about this special day and send their greetings and at the same time soliciting business from me).

Its nice to be remembered on special occasion like this, but still I won't spend unnecessarily just because of this Many thanks to all who send the greetings!

p/s Apparently part of the nation was hit by a major blackout for about 5 hours from noon today and I don't even realised about it until late in the afternoon - its business as usual at my place, no glitch at all.

HAPPY belated birthday!!!! Mon 24-Jan-2005 23:55

Life (not) a Beach :)

Roof
Empty glasses
Crowd
Not a good start for the week I guess

First, the beach holiday most likely have to be cancelled as some urgent things that I need to attend in the office (Kak Ungku still on sick leave till end of this week, have to cover for her...)

Then, in the staff meeting later in the afternoon everybody were caught by suprised when it was announced that the Company would terminate the insurance scheme and implement the "claim when you sick" scheme instead. Its sickening!

Headed to AmPark afterwork and as if its been fated, bump into a "long lost" old friend there. Joined him and freind Is for drink at Binjai. Looks like he's having lotsa problem it seems (judging from his older-than-his-age look) and thats explain why he's gone MIA (after getting some "financial assistance" from me)....

Looking back, hey my life is not that bad I guess, they are others who suffer more...

That's not fun, I'd hate to have to cancel a trip to the beach Mon 24-Jan-2005 02:02

Breakfast at SFC

SFC
Breakfast
Its free and easy sunday for me, the day after my getting older day.

Had a cuppa at SFC (San Francisco Coffee) for breakfast and hang around reading the news and people watching and contemplating about life etc - whats I've done for the past year, what I want to achive for the years to come etc.

How I wish that I can just hang around like this everyday

Getting Older Day.

A slice of cake celebrating a slice of my life.
Close up
Cake & frappucino
So here I am on my getting older day - just an ordinary day for me I guess (age is just a number eh? ) Anyway treat myself for a slice of cake at Starbucks.

Hopefully I'm getting wiser and be a better man in the years to come.

Automated Life

e-leave
I'm applying for leave next week - planning to go to somewhere near the beach Apparently, I'm the FIRST person in the office to apply for the leave using "e-leave" - our very own automated leave application system which is up and running frm today onwards.

Frankly I don't really like it that way - it make things less personal. Previously, the procedure was for us to make leave request via email then get the hard copy of the form signed by a colleague and approved by the superior - so there's human interaction there. But with the e-leave, its all with just clicking the button on line. Ya it make life simpler but the human factor is not there... Afterall, the office is not that big where all things have to be automated. Seems like our life is now controlled by the machine

BTW, I got approval for the leave within 30 mins

iwanski - tak decide lagi nak gi mana..
Mark - agree with your point esp for ppls like me who need to submit sick leave often
Thx all for the happy holiday greetings!

Sorting out on life

Cupboard
Gobok :)
I'm sorting out my closet today - not really to get rid of those unwanted stuff but to find those clothes that are worthy enough to be donated to the Tsunami relief effort. Its like a trip down memory lane for me as most of the clothes have one or two stories associated with it.

Well its beginning of the year, apart from sorting out on my stuff I need to sort out on my life as well I guess.
