Bowling Tournament
|
|
The office's Sport Club held it Bowling Tournament today
This time around, its a stiff competetion for all as we have invited other Sport Clubs within the group to take part as well - and they send their best teams! It was a good start for my team (I strike at the first throw ) but we wasn't lucky enough and ended up at the fourth place... Another blow was one of my team mate only short of 2 point to win the top scorer for female bowler. Not our day and not our luck I guess.
Anyway we had a good fun today - the tournament is a good way to foster freindship and goodwill among us.
p/s To Malaysian fotopagers, have fun guys at the coming bowling tournament

Clash of the copiers
|
|
A lot of lobbying taken palce in the office for the past few weeks as we were in the midst of purchasing a new copier.
So apart from the small gifts (calendars, diaries etc), lucheon and courtessy calls/visits (almost daily from the respective sales persons), we were also given free trial of the copiers. Things turn hire wire today when two trial copiers arrived in the office and the respective technicians/sales person try to out do each other it seems.
I am glad that Kak Ungku is back to handle this - the sales person can be too aggressive and annoying at time

KL City Day
|
|
|
Its Federal Territory Day today - KL City day so its a public holiday here in KL and the other Federal Territoies (Putrajaya & Labuan). But I still spend this KL City Day in another city - Genting, the city of entertainment - and only back to KL in the afternoon.
Well I guess I won't qualify as a patriotic KL city dweller though I stay right in the city itself

Carnival in Genting
|
|
Still in Genting for the weekend - more so I'll be on leave tomorrow and Tuesday is Public Holiday in KL.. I don't really enjoying myself at the Themepark but just hang around Genting for some other stuff - went for movie (Elektra - quite interesting but why must Asians be potrayed as the baddies in Hollywood flick? So stereotype...), bowling, H2O show and Snoworld
Later in the evening went to Arena of Stars for Danish band Micheal Learn To Rocks' concert. Its a trip down memory lane for me as most of the songs (25 Minutes, The Actor, Paint My Love, Sleeping Child etc) remind me of my younger days..
After concert, hang out with my fren Lan & co. at Patio, enjoying the life band performance (who happen to be his friends). Then, headed to Safari for a nite out with Ivan, Jon & co. (a tame nite, not as wild as its name suggest)
Truely a carnival indeed eh?

Gohtong Jaya
|
|
This is for Eema http://eema.fotopages.com/ who missed Gohtong Jaya so much
Gohtong Jaya is a small satellite township for Genting Highlands. It is named after the tycoon founder of Genting Highlands, Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, and located halfway between Genting Highlands and Genting Sempah in the lowland.
This small township has few rows of shops, hotels, horse ranch, golf course, educational isntitutions and a transport terminal that also double up as the Genting Skyway Station for the cable car ride to reach Genting Highlands. The town most recogniseable landmark is no doubt the Awana Genting Hotel with its pagoda like structure. Located adjacent to the golf course with the highlands in the background, Awana offers a great view of Gohtong Jaya and its surrounding area.
Life in Gohtong Jaya is more relaxing as its still exude that small town feeling though it is just minutes away from Genting Highlands.

Off to Genting
|
|
I'm on leave today - a much deserve break after the cancellation of the beach trip.
Headed to Genting Highlands in the afternoon with a brief detour stop at Bukit Tinggi. I really like Genting's cool air, more so while enjoying a cup of hot coffee outdoor at nite. Such a relaxing atmosphere here, away from hectic city life style.
I guess I'll come often to Genting then - more so as some of my freinds are working here.

Had another meeting at Gudang Duit this afternoon - its more organised and less stressfull from the previous one, maybe because I deal direct with the boss
Later in the evening, there was a farewell gathering at Cilantro for the outgoing Gudang Duit's CEO who decided to retire early - how I wish I can retire early too and enjoy life free & easy ...

Hari raya or not, I have to work today in the road show to promote the credit card - its part of my duty in my new freelance job. It's quite a challneging yet interesting thing to do I guess, and yes kinda tiring...
Anyway, once the road show was over I joined my brother for movie (National Treasure - just so-so movie for me, prolly becasue i was tired then... ) and later supper at Subaidah.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha
|

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha!
Unlike previous years, the Hari Raya Aidil Adha this year was celebrated in a merrier mood as everybody in the family are back for the festival due to the long weekend - its a good enough reason for us to celebrate the festival with big feast among the family members
As for me, the journey back home was really worth it though I can only return home yesterday evening after work and have to face with the heavy traffic on the way - listening to the "takbir raya" on the radio make me wanna cry
