Weekend with strangers :)
Me in the jacuzzi :)
Been busy this past few days and over the weekend entertaining querries from all sort of strangers regarding my apartment - I put up another classifieds (this time for 4 days) on the local dailies and its internet version, in the hope that I can close a deal really soon...
The last classified that I put up (http://click.fotopages.com/?entry=439490) didn't lead to any close deal... though initially it was promising when I got a serious enquiry from a businessman who have agreed to rent the unit but he back off at the last minute after I prepared the agreement - so unethical I guess as he didn't even bother to inform me that the deal was off ...
Anyway, got some good response from this second round of advertisement ; there's Mr. Shawn and his mek salleh wife (who seems very keen), Madam Z and her Middle Eastern husband (who kinda demanding - want to rent at low price but have lotsa demand); and Mr. Sysaga who seems err... very interested On top of that, there are various calls from the estate agents who want to be the middlemen and earn quick buck So been busy this past few days taking the prospective tenants on tour of the property.
Anyway, later this day had a relaxing time soaking myself at the pool's jacuzzi - what a way to spend this King's Birthday's holiday

Negaraku

Standing still for Negaraku.
I was on the way to the office and pass by Dataran Merdeka - where the rehersal for the procession of the King's Birthday's celebration was held. Then the national anthem - Negaraku - was played and everyone, including myself, stand still in honour of it.
I am proud of my country and glad to be a citizen here - and I don't mind to stand still in cinema halls later on in honour of the national anthem
| Quote: | Playing next -- Negaraku
KUALA LUMPUR: Negaraku will play in cinemas nationwide as part of a drive to honour the national anthem, says Information Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Arshad Hashim. He said respect for the Negaraku has waned among Malaysians, particularly the younger generation.
"In the past, cinemas used to play the anthem before the start of a movie and we want to revive this," he told a gathering of Information Department and Bernama staff at Wisma Bernama to instill love and affection for the Negaraku on Tuesday.
In response, several political parties cautioned the ministry not to go overboard in implementing the policy, saying patriotism is not measured this way.
Arshad expressed regret that some Malaysians do not respect the anthem when it is played, and there are also schoolchildren who fail to memorise the lyrics. Even in sporting events, either at the national or international level, there are also athletes who do not even sing the Negaraku when it is played, he said.
Besides government events, Arshad said, the ministry will make it compulsory for the private sector to play the Negaraku at official functions where government leaders are present. The ministry, as the campaign organiser, will also ask all kindergartens, schools and institutions of higher learning to play the national anthem during gatherings.
"We can't take for granted. The government must implement a special programme to imbue the culture in our society," he said. |

Another Sunday morning spend at Starbucks for brunch
Later in the late afternoon went to my unit in Jelatek to do some house cleaning, clearing the stuff left by the lightingmen yesterday. All the lights work wonderfully at night
Then, had a quick dip at the pool.

Fixing the lights day
Its the day for fixing the lights at the new house
As promised, the wiringman/lightman came over today to fix the lights at my house. It took them almost five hours (frm noon till 5pm) to complete the task. It cost me RM250 for the installation alone (including transport charges & re-moving/re-fixing the fan in between the dining and living halls).
I feel relieve that this lighthings thing is over - now the house is ready for immediate occupation by any of the prospective tennants

Bought another color box today
This time around its slightly bigger than the one that I bought earlier on ( http://click.fotopages.com/?entry=403027 ) as I plan to keep all those stuff frm the old office there (files, training material etc). BTW, I really need to re-organise all my stuff I guess - my room is getting crowded with lotsa cluster nowadays
The bigger color box is slightly difficult to assemble it seems as I had blister on my thumb at the end...

Another Trip to IKEA

My IKEA, theirs Converse :)
Had to go to IKEA after office today - need to buy few more lights as the lightmen will do the instalation this Saturday.
Was in IKEA until its closing time - I was one of the last customer to left I guess. With 2 big bags full of IKEA stuff, I look kinda funny on the train I guess... But then, there were this guys with big Converse shopping bags on the train too - so I didn't look that strange then.
Now, who says man don't shop as much as the lady?

First Day @ ABC
My cubicle
Its my first day at ABC today - my new office
Well the office is new (as it's just been relocated from TTDI in the suburb (when I was there 3+ years back) to KL's CBD now - its even closer to my home
The office is not as as big as my previous office, even I just have to settle for a cubicle instead of my own desk and a PC instead of a laptop but thats fine for me - there's always give and take in whatever that we do I guess, no such things as perfect working place. Afterall, most of my wishes are fulfilled by the current job and employer so its not that bad at all
Anyway, the best part is I can always have a peek at the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve nearby and of course the ever chnaging city skyline whenever I feel stress out with work later on.
I hope this is a new beginning for more good things in my life.

Kitchen Quotation
RM19 & RM39 looks simple to me ;)
Been busy this past few days, particulalrly over the weekend, looking and surveying around for lightings and kitchen cabinet for the new house.
The keyword that I always use whenever I asked for the quotation is "SIMPLE" (read : CHEAP ). So, I always asked for SIMPLE design of the kitchen cabinet and lightings. However, the design can be simple but the price is not necessarily cheap by my standard
Anyway, boughts some lightings at IKEA today but still I need to buy few more as there are 20 lights points at the house. I guess I'll KIV on the kitchen cabinet for the time being, none of the quotation that I received so far is SIMPLE for me ....

Spend the weekend at my sis' place with my family
Later, took them for a tour of my Jelatek but it were the kids who had a splashing good time at the pool afterwards - an economical way to spend the school holidays I guess

Its long weekend here as Monday is a public holiday.
Though I plan to sort out my stuff from the office, I had to forego this plan as my parents are coming here to spend the long weekend. So headed to sis' place instead for the long weekend for some quality time with my family
