I still remember this date - 11 December 1993.
It was raining heavily the nite before and I was in a celebration mood as I've just completed my exam and looking forward for my trip to hometown to spend the long holidays with my family. Part of KL, as usual, was flooded after the heavy downpour - I was suprised to see the parking lot of the KWSP building turn into a "swimming pool", with few cars submerged. Couldn't care much as I made a quick move for the balik kampung journey.
And then, at 1pm 11 December 1993, Block One of Highland Towers collapsed... 
Today mark the 11th anniversary of the colapsed of the tower. My prayers go to those who are victims of this tragedy.

There was a farewell pot luck lunch today at the office - its a farewell do for four of the staff who'll leave for Mecca soon for their haj pilgrimage, and prolly a farewell do for Hari Raya celebration which would be ended on Sunday 13th December 
As for me, its like my 2nd Hari Raya celebration this year after another round of fasting thats ended yeaterday.

Look mom, no crack!

My right foot still kinda aching this morning when I woke up frm sleep, but still I hve to go to work as I'm suppose to cover for Zaren who are on leave today.. 
Anyway, left the office early in the afternoon to go to the clinic. This is the third time that I saw Dr Zari 3 years in a row for muscle/internal pain (2002 - accidently injured my right wrist when I fell din KLCC while having buka puasa there!, 2003 - injured my right foot while doing my last minutes raya shopping & this year broke my right foot again post Hari Raya ... as I asked before - is it a jinx or what?) So I have to be X-rayed just in case if there's any crack in the bone as my foot was swollen badly it seem - even the nurse who did the X-ray stuff can still remember me & my injury
Luckily there's no crack or something, just soft tissue injury as what Dr Zari told me - just take my medicine and things will be alright. Another advice frm Dr Zari - don't go swimming within this week

I don't know is it a jinx or what but things seem to revolve around my feet today...
It all statrted when I went to a health equipment shop downtown to redeem for my gift - got it from the bank for being a "loyal" credit card holder. Instead of just collecting the gift, ended up trying the health equipments instead (massage chair, feet massager etc) and (as expected) I was asked to use the credit card to purchase the equipment...  But as I declined, the promoter started using the scare tactic - as if my health at stake if not using the product... But, still my answer is NO.
Check out a new gym after that (need to re-enroll after stop going to the gym during the fasting month). After some work out, headed to the pool to cool down. Its my fault for not looking before I jumped - ended up at the deep part of the pool instead. Kinda panic, my left foot hit the wall when I paddled... ouch! Now, was it a jinx or what?
Anyway, on my way back dropped by at the mall and tried another feet massager. Things getting worst as I have to walk quite a distance to few other places to settle some chores... By the time I reached home, my right foot already swollen. Have to put on some oitment and bandage but still not feeling better....

I Know What You Did Last Raya

So I went to the movie, with Rina & Fid in tow. Initially I thought it is a waste of time (there are other benificial stuff I can do on Saturday morning rather then watching a slapstick comedy) but as I've confirmed my attendnace I hve no other choice I guess.
There's lotsa Kedah supporters around KLCC when I reached the mall for the movie - most of them came all the way from the northern state of Kedah to support their football team for the final of Malaysia Cup later tonite (Kedah finaly lost the football match to its neighbour Perlis 0-1 as the captain accidently hited the ball into the team's own goal! And this happened in the final match of the "prestigous" Malaysia Cup, what a sorry state of Malaysian football! 
As for the movie, it started almost an hour late as we have to wait for the arival of Waheeda. I have to sat through almost two hours of torture watching the movie! Its crapier then what I tought it would be! Then again, it was directed by a Professor who lectures on film study here - what a sorry state of Malaysian film! Suprisingly, the girls looked like they really had fun watching the movie!
Once the movie was over, rushed back home as I have to attend the company's open house function later in the afternoon. Though the movie was a crap, at least I got something from the door gifts - now I have almost two years supply of Pantene

Got a mail frm an advertising agency today - I won some prizes for some promotional blitz for Pantene. The main prize? Watching special screening of the the movie I Know What U Did Lat Raya with its main cast - the tudung clad Waheeda (she's the model/spoke person for Pantene).
Well I'm not really interested with the movie ( I know its a crap, judging frm the title) but meeting Waheeda in Person would be nice, more so there'll definitely be some other prizes/door gifts for the event tomorrow

All local dailies today front-paged the story of local veteran singer Sharifah Aini (Malaysia's 1st Lady of Song) being charged in court for sending/forwarding malicous emails about fellow singer Siti Nurhaliza (currently the top local singer here).
It all started with an email from "Asmah & the Gang" about Siti's concert (which I went to as posted before here) that bad mouthed her, followed by denial from Sharifah Aini, then a police report by Siti's lawyer (& more police reports later on.. ), a purpoted assault/antempt to murder Sharifah Aini and culminate with this court charge. Things getting interesting it seems - as they said there's no business like show business. 
Off course the office was a buzz with more details about the incident.
p/s I hope I won't be sued for creating this entry - I'm not "Asmah & the gang" OK.

Another visit to the hospital...

Made another visit to the hospital today - for follow up check out on my sinus problem...
The good news is I don't really have to go for sethoplasty as suggested by the doctor before though I'm not totally cured from the sinusitis - I don't really have to come again for future folow up treatment . The bad news? I hve to leave with the desease - its something that cant really cure but I need to control my food intake - no seafood etc. Well we can't get everything in life rite?
Ohh ya! Bump into the Chief Minister of Melaka at the hospital - CM pun pegi treatment kat spital gomen ke?

My itinerary suppose to be kinda full for the day with few open houses invitation to attend in Shah Alam.
Unfortunately, I have to cancel the trip to Shah Alam as hosts Kak Ungku has been ill for the past few days and Kak Nita have to cancel the invite at the 11th hours as her husband is warded for observation - suspect of dengue (is there dengue outbreak in Shah Alam?).
Finaly, only managed to go to my ex-boss' open house later in the evening. Its his Diwali open house so instead of rendang & ketupat, had a feast of capati, samosa etc for the open house

Another Company's Event

Have to attend another event organised by the firm where I worked today.
As usual, when its involve the public, there'll be some makan-makan (refreshment) served after the function. Ironically, the function took less than 15 minutes to complete though the works involve to prepare for it took almost 6 months! Hmm.... maybe those attending are more interseted in the makan-makan then the running of the function...
Again, as usual, there'll be the "tapau" gang around - those who come to such functions and tapau (packed) the food served for take away...
Hmm... that why Im kinda reluctant to host the Hari Raya open house
